First snow last week, but nearly missed it! The colours are changing, softening, more muted. Yet there are still flashes of strong colour. During November I have had several days drawing in the garden and then trying to get some finished canvases working in the studio. Varying the scale changes the approach and style and I'm still torn between moving towards the abstract and being more representational. The images still develop from an emotional response to the varied aspects I glimpse as I walk around the spaces. So a combination of approaches seems appropriate. I need to stop over thinking things and just respond in an honest and immediate way to what I see and feel.
